Wallace is an interactive clock with a personality. He plays with the perception of time: as you approach him, he slowly, gradually slows down his ticking, until it almost stops. At night, he goes wild (and backwards). After the distraction is over, Wallace always returns to the "right" time by speeding up a bit. I built Wallace with Sharon Williams during in a 5-day prototyping project at UID. We made him from a hacked old clock with an Arduino Uno, a light sensor, a distance sensor and a small stepper motor with an extra set of gears.
